1) What Is Web Hosting?

We offer domain web hosting and email services. This means that we provide space on our servers for your web site and email. We can register a new domain name for you, or host an existing domain name, which will be used for your web site and email.

2) How to transfer a domain name ?

If you already have a domain name registered or you prefer to register your domains with another company, you can transfer these domain names onto your hosting account.

To transfer any domain name, you must first complete an order to begin the transfer process. You will be emailed and informed of the login details for your hosting plan once it has been setup, normally within a few hours.

Once your hosting account is ready for your new domain name, completing the transfer is a straightforward process but varies depending on the extension of the domain name. Please note that it may take up to 48 hours for the transfer of your domain name to become visible throughout the Internet.

UK Domain Names (.co.uk, .org.uk .ltd.uk & .plc.uk & me.uk)

You must ask your ISP to change the settings as follows

:IPS Tag: ICUK
Primary Nameserver: ns1.interdns.co.uk (80.82.139.230)
Secondary Nameserver: ns2.interdns.co.uk (81.21.68.220)

This will give us control of the domain on our system, and complete the transfer of the domain to us to our domain registrars ICUK.

All Other Domain Names (including .com, .net & .org)

To transfer a Top Level domain you must contact the current hosting company, and ask them to change the name servers for your domain name as follows.

Primary Nameserver: ns1.interdns.co.uk (80.82.139.230)
Secondary Nameserver: ns2.interdns.co.uk (81.21.68.220)

This will complete the transfer of the hosting of the domain to us. You will continue to be invoiced for all future renewals of your top level domain name by the original hosting company.

What if I wish to be billed by you for the .com/org/net domain that I wish to host with you ?
Simply send an email to domains@Ehievershosting.co.uk, quoting the Order Number and explain that you would like to transfer billing, administration and hosting of the domain. You will receive a reply with instructions on how to achieve this as this is dependent upon the domain. There are no additional costs involved.

As for the actual transfer, generally it depends on the losing registrar as to their rules. Please check with them if there are any forms or procedures to complete to release a .com domain to a new hosting company. But generally the basic procedure is

1) We will confirm with that the Admin contact of the domain name is a valid and working email address and that your previous host / registrar is willing to give up the domain name.
2) The admin contact of the domain is contacted and asked to authorise the transfer to ICUK (our domain registrars).
3). Assuming the admin contact authorises the transfer, there is a 9 day wait for the domain to become active with OpenSRS / ICUK (whom we use for domain registrations / transfers).

The rules for transferring .com / .net / org domains are

1) The domain must have been registered for more than 60 days.
2) The current admin contact must be able to confirm the transfer.
3) The domain name must not be 'on hold' with the current registrar. The domain could be on hold for payment issues, renewal issues etc.
4) The domain must be at least 40 days from its renewal date.

2A Can I host multiple domains under one hosting plan?

Yes, you can have as many domains as you wish allocated to the same hosting plan. For instance, if both domain1.com and domain2.com were on the same plan, if you went to their web sites, they would load the same content since they are sharing the resources of that hosting plan.

Each Additional Domain is priced at £10.00 Per year to host

3) How do I purchase a domain name / hosting plan?

Once you are happy with the hosting plan that is suitable for you, you can order a hosting plan from our Online Order section from the link provided at the top of every page of "Purchase Online".

Once we have received and setup your hosting plan order, you will be informed of the hosting plan's login details.

Plans are normally setup within a few hours during normal working hours of the week. You are not billed until the hosting plan is successfully setup and all is working.

4) Which operating systems do you use on your servers?

All our systems are currently based on the Wndows 2000 Advanced Server platform. Future upgrades to Windows 2003 are planned, along with a new UNIX platform in the coming year.

5) Do you provide Unmetered or Broadband Internet access ?

Yes we can provide you with 56K, 64K and 128K ISDN ,as well as a range of home and business ADSL plans.

6) Do you provide NNTP hosting?

7) What happens if I go over my bandwidth / disk space limit?

Our hosting plans are designed so that the bandwidth allocated for you web site is sufficient for the resources provided. However, we will always inform customers that they are approaching their limit when they reach 90% of their bandwidth / disk space limit.

8) What does your control panel allow me to do?

9) Do you provide telephone Support?

Yes, during office hours of Monday - Friday 9am - 6pm. Our telephone support number is 020 8770 0007.

Please ensure you have carefully read the FAQs provided in the control panel of your web site before contacting us and please have your account username and password ready in case we need to investigate your problem further.

If possible, please email your query first to support@Ehievershosting.co.uk. We promise an 8 working hour maximum response time on all emails sent between 9am - 6pm Monday to Friday.
